AUTO VALUE SUPER STOCK RULES

2010

A. CAR
1. COMPETING MODELS:
a. Cars can be American Stock passenger automobiles with factory steel bodies and roofs. No convertibles or station wagons.
b. Any G.M. with 108” minimum wheel full frame, sedan type auto. Any Ford with 104” minimum wheel base unit construction car with modified strut suspension (spring & shock separate.)
Any Chrysler with 106” minimum wheel base unit construction car with A frame/torsion bar construction.
c. No front wheel or four wheel drive vehicles. d. no more than a 1 inch difference between left and right sides.

B. BODY
*WEIGHT PENALTIES WILL BE ADDED IN 50 lb. INCREMENTS FOR INFRACTION!
1. Hoods and trunk lids must remain stock for make of car, and may be gutted. No Aluminum body panels anywhere, no exeptions
2. All spring type devises must be removed from trunk lid. Nothing allowed to hold trunk closed.
3. Front fender wells may be removed. Fenders may be reasonably trimmed for tire clearance only. Tire may stick out no more than 2 inches from fender.
4. No radiator-fill holes allowed in hood.
5. Newer bodies of the same make may be used if pre-approved, and no major altering needs to be done to fit the frame.(special rules apply)
6. All body metal must be OEM factory gauge.
7. Lexan windshields Recommended
8. Front firewall must be complete and in stock position. All holes in firewall must be covered and must seal engine area from drivers compartment.
9. Floorboards must be patched or repaired for safety requirements. A complete steel firewall must seal the trunk area from the driver’s compartment. If the stock floor is to be removed, you MUST * retain complete stock firewall,* have a 1/8” steel plate under drivers seat, extending from the firewall to the main upright hoop behind the driver. And from the frame extending past the right side of the seat, up a min. of 6’ all welded in.* An approved X brace under the car. *2 approved driveshaft loops, * tinning will be 22GA. steel or .040 aluminum late model style interior, no tunnels allowed. Must tin complete drivers compartment to meet the DCRA approval. (we suggest calling to get recommended design)
a.1/8" steel latemodel style footbox may be installed, however if the stock firewall is removed, then a 50 lb weight penalty on the rightside frame rack will be issued. (50lbs of weight must be placed on the rightside frame)
10. Remove all side and rear glass, upholstery, rear seats, molding, ect….
11. Pad or remove all dangerous objects in driver’s compartment. (Roll bar padding only)
12. All doors must be welded or bolted shut.
13. Rear quarter or opera windows may be lexan with no exposed edges.
14. No functional fresh air hood scoops
15. No side-skirts, flattops, slanted roofs or windshields. For 2010 season 09 cars are OK as long as proper head clearance is kept. No new cars.
16. Rear spoiler is allowed 5” max height, not to extend past deck lid sides.
17. An outer one- inch square rub-rail next to the body is permitted, flush mounted only. No exposed bolts, carriage bolts permitted
18. Brake and gas pedals must be stock type, in stock position, and in working order. Clutch may have an aftermarket manual clutch pedal.
19. Steel plate on left side door mandatory. 1/8” steel minimum from post to post. Extending as far forward to foot area as possible.
20. Numbers must be applied to both sides of the car and on the roof facing the grandstand, must be 16” in height and 3” wide. 6” numbers in upper right corner of windshield mandatory. A number will also be placed at the rear of the car to be visible from behind. All numbers must be legible or car will not be scored
21. Cars coming from other tracks that have matching numbers with a driver from Norway Speedway will add a letter before or after their number or change to a new number that is not in use.
22. Cars must maintain a neat appearance.
23. All drivers must register their car’s number with the club. Previously used numbers will have preference.
24. No inside reinforcing permitted of bumper that is heavier than original, home made ok.
25. Front and rear bumpers must remain stock for make of car, subject to inspectors discretion. If nosepiece or similar is used, bumper may be fabricated. Inspectors discretion.
26. No cutting or trimming of bumper ends.
27. Heat and bend bumper ends if necessary to protect from cutting tires or hooking other cars.
28. Aftermarket or homemade nose - piece allowed No front skirts.
29. Five Star steel body parts will be allowed. All bodies must be steel no aluminum or fiberglass. Body panels must be no thinner than 22 gauge.
30. Weight identification number will be displayed somewhere near driverside "A" piller. Numbers will be of contrasting colors no less than 1 ½ tall and run left to right. And will include any penalty weight.
31. No sport Compact bodies. Fwd bodies must meet inspectors approval.

C. CHASSIS:

1. ROLL CAGE AND FRAME WORK STRUCTURAL ADDITIONS:
a. Cars must have a six point perimeter roll cage. (No offset cages allowed)
b. Cars must have door bars on both sides of car, with a minimum of 3 door bars on drivers side which must be plated to top of door, and 2 right side door bars. (3 recommended)
c. Metal door panels and rear panels may be removed as necessary for clearance of door bars only. (see also section A rule 11)
d. Roll bar tubing must be minimum of 1 ¾” in diameter with walls not to be less than .090” thick. All new cars must use roll bar tubing for cage.
e. No pipe fitting, square tubing, galvanized pipe, exhaust pipe or conduit allowed.
f. Some type of X brace must be installed between the roll cage uprights behind the driver
g. All welding must be electric.
h. All corner welds must be gusseted.
i. A ¼” hole must be drilled into left and right uprights for inspection purposes.
j. Jarvis bar= a bar from left front post to left rear post of roll cage approximately 6” up from frame. (Recommended)
k. Unibody sub frame connectors permitted and recommended.
i. Rebuilding of rear stub allowed:
ii. Start at centerline of rear axle, straight back horizontally.
iii. Two parallel frame members of 10 inches minimum outside circumference, 1/8” thick tubing. (Square, round, rectangle)
iv. Shall extend level from existing axle frame kick up.
v. Join cross member at rear with same material. (Must be symmetrical)
vi. Must tie into roll cage.
vii. Mount bumper to rear cross member.
viii. Fuel cell protector hoop is required with 2 braces 2” below fuel cell.
m. Rear frame kick up may be reinforced on all cars.
n. Rear bumper hoop is permitted. 8”max. height, 3’ wide max. width. 1 ¾” do max.
o. No front bull work or reinforcements in front of A-frames.
p. Front and rear wrecker hooks required.
q. All ballast (added weight) must be painted white and be securely fastened into car. Must also have car number clearly marked on each weight.
r. Front hoops permitted. Must not extend ahead of steering box.
No suspension parts or lateral stiffeners attached to hoops. One vertical stiffener allowed per side.
s. Frame rails may be reinforced. (Recommended) t. Radiator protection will consist of one horizontal pipe of not more than 1” diameter and one brace on each side of radiator to the frame of 1” diameter. This must be positioned behind the plane of the front bumper. No plating allowed.
u. Stock radiator bulkhead panel may be replaced with 1”tubing MAX.
v. Any reasonably sized steel transmission cross member may be used, must be bolted in not welded.
w. Car with late model type interiors must have 1/8 min steel floor pan and drive shaft wall up at least 6”. Aluminum panels must be .040 thick. Fire wall must be there until the brake to the floor pan begins.
x. 58% left side weight (maximum percentage) does not include any weight penalties (50lbs on rightside)

2. SUSPENSION
a. Suspension system must remain completely and strictly stock, no modification permitted, no modifications to any control arms. Except as listed below!
b. No heim joints, front or rear.
c. All four flanges must have a 5-bolt pattern. All 108” type cars that come factory with four bolt flanges must be modified to a 5-bolt pattern. To be deemed satisfactory by inspec.
d. All control arms must be in stock location. (i.e. right on right left on left) No Ford control arms on GM cars, Metric cars must run metric control arms
e. No panhard bars, coilover shocks, small diameter springs, sliders, or rear sway bars.
f. Shocks allowed in factory position only (4 shocks only). Any stock appearing shocks. Rebuildable Q1A FC Series shocks allowed (1900 Series Front - 1600 Series Rear - Fords 78 Series) "THESE ARE THE ONLY PERMITTED REBUILDABLE SHOCKS"
g. No interchange of front suspension parts without approval.
h. rear weight jacks and front adjustable spacers permitted.
i. Cutting and heating of springs is allowed.
j. Racing springs will be permitted.
k. Minimum ground clearance of 4”, not including exhaust.
l. Mid American series hub & rotors allowed.
m. No drop spindles
n. Tubular upper A arms are OK as long as they follow these guide lines
1. steel construction only ((steel pivot shafts only)no aluminum)
2. One piece style allowed (adjustable heim style prohibited)
3.Conventional style bolt on ball joints allowed(screw in style prohibited)
4. Bushing style pivot shafts allowed(ball bearing pivots prohibited)
5. Upper control arms to measure 8 inches plus or minus one half inch.

3. RADIATOR
a. A catch can is mandatory.

b. Aluminum radiators allowed. No plastic radiators.
c. Aluminum water pump pulleys acceptable. V-belt only, no cog drive.
d. Aluminum water pumps permitted
e. STEERING
1. Steering must be in typical stock arrangement and location.
2. No rack and pinion type, except on ford unibodies.
3. The steering wheel should be padded.
4. A collapsible type shaft with locking collar required.
5. No welding of any steering components.
6. No steering quickners.

5. TIRES AND WHEELS
a. Tires must be purchased from the official track tire salesman, and be marked with his brand.
b. One new tire a night allowed except first night of racing at the speedway (season opener) all four tires may be new. (If your first night of racing is after the season opener, you MUST have 3 marked tires)
c. You may purchase tires before start of season. Must run the tires you qualified on for that nights races. d. Name and brand must be visible.
e. All markings must be left on tires.
f. Maximum 8” tread width.
g. Double centered racing wheels or ¼’ mounting flanged racing wheel required on right wheels. MANDATORY! See Coleman Catalog.
a. NO IMCA SUPER LIGHT WHEELS ETC. ALLOWED!
h. Longer and oversized stud bolts required, ½” min. diameter. Oversized wheel nut mandatory. Studs must have at least 3 threads past nuts.
i. No shimming behind wheels of any kind!!
j. 8” wheel max. No home made wheels allowed.
k. The use of tire softener will not be permitted or tolerated.
l. 800 series treaded hoosier tire only. ( for 2010 season only can use an F-75 as a spare for first week with inspectors approval)
m. 14” & 15” tires only.
n. When a racing tire is used it must be mounted on a racing wheel.
o. All racing wheels on car must be of same offset.
p. No air bleeders allowed.
q. PENALTY: anyone found not complying with the tire rule will be disqualified for the rest of the nights events immediately, lose all pay and points for that night, and possible suspension.
r. 19 lb. Minimum weight on rim. Can flip tires - run right on left.
s.*Top 10 will turn in 3 hot tires after every feature race and winner of B.

6. BRAKES
a. Foot operated brakes only.
b. Factory type brake pedal assembly only.
c. No Neal, Howe, Willwood, ect…
d. All FOUR brakes must be in good operating condition.
e. No rear disc brakes
f. Brake air ducting allowed.
g. No aftermarket adjustable brake proportioning valves anywhere
h. No Dual master cylinders

7. FUEL CELLS
a. A manufactured fuel cell in a steel box is required and must be mounted in center of stub (front to rear and side to side centering). 11” minimum ground clearance. Two 1” straps in each direction, square tubing or angle iron with 1/8” minimum thickness surrounding the fuel cell box on all four sides mandatory. IF rear stub is stock, cell must be as far forward as possible.
b. No fuel lines or containers in drivers compartment.
c. Fuel cell vent must exit the car from under quarter panel or rear dash panel as high up as possible.

D. DRIVETRAIN:
1. ENGINE/WEIGHT:
a. Up to 360 CID Engine, upto 9.5 to 1 compression must run at 3000lbs
b. 360 CID Engine and over - 9.6 to 1 and up to 11.1 to 1 compression; 360 CID or higher CID up to 11.1 to 1 compression must run at 3200lbs
c. Any engine, anysize over 11.2 to 1 must run at 3400lbs
d. Any one running an engine bigger than 360 CID or an engine more than 9.5 to 1 compression CAN NOT RACE AT 3000LBS *Any Questions contact the DCRA Board*
e. 58% max left side weight (will include any penalty)
f. GM part # 88958602 crates engine must run at 3000 lbs.

2. ENGINE
a. Engine must be in stock position V-8 in V-8 holes and V-6 in V-6 holes) Any corporate engine which bolt’s in stock location may be used. Any engine stabilizers must have slack at rest. No frame modifications allowed to accommodate engine or engine parts. *Engine set back and left and right percentages will be strictly enforced!!!
b. No aluminum blocks or heads.
c. Factory street production heads only. (No Turbo, Bowtie, angle plug or aftermarket heads.)
d. Any flat tappet camshaft. Three pushrods must be marked with vertical white line at top.
e. No roller cams/roller rockers. Stock appearing valve train 1 3/8” max. diam valve springs.
f. Remote oil coolers optional. (Must be OK’d by Inspector.)
g. No accusump or non-stock oil pans. No remote oil filters.
h. POSSIBLE TEAR DOWN RULE CAN BE ENFORCED!!!
i. ¾-1 inch sight plug in oil pan in line with rod journal - (option) remove oil pan at the track at your expense.
j. Solid motor mounts required if you run solid throttle linkage.
k.Crankshaft and Harmonic Balancer:
Only cast iron or forged steel crankshafts are permitted. Titanium crankshafts are prohibited.
Only standard type harmonic balancers are permitted. Aluminum or fluid type balancers are prohibited.
All crankshafts have a minimum weight of 48lbs. No Knife Edging, Undercutting & Honda Journals are Prohibited

3. CARBURETOR
a. Maximum of one factory stock two barrel. (choke plate may be removed) Rochester on GM, Motorcraft on Ford, ect.Rochester carb 2Gc throttle 1 3/8 inch bore 1 11/16 inch base. Stock base plate only - no after market.
b. No Holley 4412’s.
c. No carburetor spacing allowed. (Minimal gasket allowed)(35 thousandths .035 max thickness)
d. Mechanical throttle Late Model style - 1/4 inch rod.

4. INTAKE AND EXHAUST
a. Stock 2bbl. Cast iron intake and exhaust manifold only.
b. No porting or polishing.
c. All cars must have mufflers of reverse flow design or glass packs UNALTERED. Exhaust will be 3" max. diameter, exiting under the car.
d. 100 decibel limit MANDATORY!!! No exhaust popping, or other irregular exhaust noise.
e. Only one intake gasket allowed between head and intake. Fel-Pro 1255 reccomended on vortec heads.
5. FUEL PUMP
a. Mechanical fuel pump only, No piston pumps (race pump)

6. IGNITION
a. Any stock single point or magnetic pick-up type may be used. Stock coil must be used. No MSD boxes or similar.
b. No electronic traction control will be allowed. The DCRA board will reserve the right to impound any distributor, cap, rotor, module and or wiring.

D.2. TRANSMISSION & REAREND
1. Stock clutch recommended. No clutches such as: Button, Multi-disk, ram couplers, sportsman clutches, or other small clutches. No Aluminum flywheels. Provisions must be made for clutch inspection, such as bell-housing inspection hole. 10 1/2" clutch on GM, 10" on Ford
2. Only stock transmission & rear end in stock location allowed.
3. Automatic trans. must have stock converter. Shift kits and trans. Cooler allowed.
4. Transmission must have forward and reverse in working order.
5. A U-hanger is required for front ¼ of drive shaft.
6. All drive shafts must be painted white for safety.
7. Locked rear ends are allowed
8. Aftermarket axles allowed. All modifications must be acceptable to the inspector.
9. No quick change rear ends.
10. No truck rear ends or floaters.
11. No Aluminum driveshafts, steel driveshafts only.
12. Racing axles recommended.

E. ELECTRICAL
1. No on board computers allowed for any reason.
2. Battery must be in a box and securely fastened to protect driver. One 12V battery only.
3. Car must be fitted with a starter cable capable of starting engine.
4. NO traction control of any kind
5. Transponder MUST be energized by the main power swithch

F. SAFETY
1. SEAT BELTS: Tech official approval required on mounting of belts and seats. A headrest is required. Aluminum racing seat mandatory. (mounted 17” min. front center of seat>>>>to inside of furthest door bar. Lap belt and shoulder harness must be a min. of 3” wide. Crotch strap required. Dates of seat belts will be no more than 5 years old.
2. DRIVER APPAREL: A Snell 2000 SA RATED (no M rated) or better approved helmet is MANDATORY Complete fire suit, fire proof gloves, and eye protection (visor or goggles, ect…) are Mandatory. Nomex shoes or leather work boots with Nomex socks required. NO GYM OR SPORT SHOE’S.
3. FAN SHROUD: Mandatory with fan.
4. FIRE EXTINGUISHER: Extinguishers of dry powder or Halon of at least 2lbs, full and in operating order must be mounted in car within reach of driver and be of quick release type only. (Except for cars with on board fire systems)
5. FUEL: Gasoline only=no Alky based fuels. No fuel line may be run through drivers compartment. No Nitrous Oxide. No cool cans.
6. KILL SWITCH: Kill switch MANDATORY, centrally located and painted safety orange. Master Kill must be easily accessible and visible from outside of car so that safety crew can reach it. Must also be painted safety orange.
7. WINDOW NET: Mandatory on drivers side and must fill at least ¾ of drivers window area. Must have quick release mechanism painted safety orange and work properly. Window nets must be in good condition and not have any tears or loose threads.

G. CRATE MOTOR
1. GM part # 88958602 - Must have DCRA Board Approval BEFORE YOU PURCHASE a NEW OR USED MOTOR and MUST have Bill of Sale at the track
2. Steel head vortec, crate motor only
a. DCRA approved 650 CFM Holley carburetor only Part # 0-4777
b. Carb can be claimed or exchanged by DCRA at any time.
3. Approved shoenfeld headers which are part #185VCM. If cast iron exhaust is used they must be removed at the end of each feature.
4. No light weight transmissions or components.
5. Conventionally priced water and pulleys.
6. Crate distributor and approved ignition only.
7. 3000 minimum weight and will scale every night.
8. Crates motor cars must follow ALL superstock rules
9. Repair/Rebuild - You must use a DCRA BOARD Approved Source for any Crate motor repairs or rebuilds, CHECK BEFORE ANY SUCH WORK

H. Transponders The transponder must be mounted on the left frame rail no further forward than 23 inches forward of the rear axle tube in the hanging position, and no higher than 24 inches from the racing surface.
I. GENERAL RULES 1. ALL RULES WILL BE CHECKED AND ENFORCED AS WRITTEN!!!!!
2. EACH DRIVER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING THESE RULES AND ALSO THE TRACK POLICY.
3. THESE RULES SUPERSEED ANY PREVIOUS YEARS RULES
J. All cars are subject to inspection by track officials at any time whether safe or unsafe to compete. DCRA officials will make final decision whether legal or illegal. If a driver/owner refuses inspection tear down, the car and driver will lose all points and pay for that race.
K. Any illegal parts will be confiscated and not given back.
L. There will be no consuming of alcoholic beverages until your car has passed post inspection. Driver / crew / co-owner will lose all points and pay for that event.
M. All Cars that are to be inspected have 30 minutes to take all spark plugs out.... carb off.... wheels and tires off... this is timed after the checkered flag from YOUR RACE... IF NOT DQ Larger tear downs have 45 minutes or DQ
